Gangotri Iron & Steel Company Ltd is proposing to set up a new steel production facility in Bihar. The company has initiated preliminary steps in this regard. The company plans to install 12x2 ton induction furnace along with continuous cast billet plant with a 300-tpa Thermex TMT plant for manufacture of international quality TMT bars. The project is estimated to cost Rs 35 crore. The company has already identified land for the project and is in the process of acquiring it. The project proposal has been forwarded to the Investment Promotion Council, Government of Bihar, for necessary approval of incentives and facilities.
