- Carbopol is an acrylic polymer(C3H4O2)
- Carbopol 940 is often used as a gelling agent in gel preparations.
- Use: typical use level 0.25% - 3.00%
- PH needs to be changes to between 6 and 7 to give a gel structure. Neutralization can be carried out with inorganic bases such as Triethanolamine (TEA)
- Needs to be thoroughly and continuously mixed with a blender
- Gel will become transparent after 24 hrs
