Metalkarma Engineering Technologies was established as a Joint Venture company under License from Saudi Arabian based company to design, manufacture and assemble at site, the prefabricated space frame components to form any geometrically definable space structure.

Being located in Bangalore, India MET has stamped swiftly its prominence in India and acquired the unquestionable leadership in space frame systems in the entire region by mastering the art and its innovative technology.

MET's Joint Venture, commitment to excel quality and economy to exceed customer satisfaction coupled with its quest for R&D has resulted in a giant leap in its production & installation of space frame structures of complex geometries in entire Middle East from 18,000 in 1992 to 350,000 Sqmt currently.

Having two decades of experience and expertise, we have installed over two million square meters of space frames as of 2014, in all possible geometric forms and are tailored to meet the specific needs of its vast variety of customers in Middle East, Africa, and Asia ranging from small to large span areas.

MET Space Frames are configured and constructed to distribute the design stress in the form of tensile and compressive forces. Due to its geometrical versatility, interdependence and continuity in formation the design forces are well distributed throughout the building process. The rigidity of construction of its components and the ability of the structure to deform locally make MET circular tube- solid sphere system safer and superior to all other forms of traditional and conventional structures under extreme conditions of sudden impact.

ADVANTAGES OF SPACE FRAMES

Since light weight tube elements & spherical balls forming the space frame system, it can be lifted by human effort . Therefore, the installation of the structure can be done with the help of a mobile scaffold in places where a crane cannot be used. Where there is crane access, the space frame system can be partially or wholly erected on the ground and later lifted on the supports. By this method large span and big areas can be installed in shortened time period.

The conventional steel structures can cross large spans only in one direction but space frames can cross large spans in both directions. This gives great versatility and freedom to the designer in the selection of structural system. Since the self-weight of space frame is small, greater economy is gained in the substructures as an added advantage.

Space frames can be designed in all kinds of forms such as prismatic, cylindrical and spherical in horizontal and vertical geometric shapes. Therefore, it is possible to integrate space frames in the architectural designs of various building types.

When required the space structure system can be easily demounted and rebuilt them at another location. Extension / reduction of existing space frame buildings can also be done faster in this system.

The A/C ducting channels and the lighting fixtures can be integrated within the space frame system..Steel or concrete substructures can easily be integrated with the Space frames.

It can be cladded with galvanized steel, aluminium, skylights, sandwich panels, fabric structures etc. using extra holes on the nodes of the bottom chord. Similarly false ceilings can also be fixed to Space frame.

Space Frames can be designed for various structures.They are especially ideal and economic for wide spans such as, aircraft hangars, factories, warehouses, conference halls, sports halls, shopping centres, showrooms, telecommunication towers, domes, tube walkways, pedestrian overpasses, industrial buildings, swimming pools, resort centres, atriums, car parks, shades, canopies and many others. Space frame structures can be cladded with sandwich panels, acrylic, polycarbonate or glass glazing and will present a very modern and aesthetic view from both indoors and outdoors.
