Profile Description : Feb 2007 to July 2008, Junior Highway Engineer, Span Consultants A Road Management System was established for the Highways Department of Government of Tamil Nadu with World Bank funding to ensure that the Highways Department is able to effectively prioritise the maintenance works. This involved huge amount of data gathering from the field and offices, developing software to store the data and using processing tools the list of maintenance and rehabilitation projects to be prioritised. I involved in this project in collecting the data, processing the data and in software development as below:  Conducted inventory, condition and GPS data from about 6000km network using ROMDAS.  Conducted 7 days and 3 days traffic counts in 600 locations in Tamil Nadu. This included arranging enumerators from the local colleges and schools, train them and to ensure that the data is collected properly.  Conducted axle load surveys in 75 locations. This task involves co-ordination with the local highway authorities, police and road users.  Involved in Bridges and Culverts condition surveys  Conducted Benkelman Deflection data in about 100 km  Conducted CBR samples from about 20 locations and tested the samples for 4 days soaked CBR values.
