Professional Experience
Research Management
Undertaken and managed a research projects with great deal of motivation and initiative, practical knowledge I have gained over the years had strengthened time-management skills and my ability to manage a research program.
Design and analysis of Structure
Whilst working as a KTP associate (2007 to 2009), I have designed beams, columns, slab and footings for domestic loading. I have also participated in company project of rib floor (2008) at ThermoneX, where I was involved in preparing design concepts, mould development, estimation spreadsheets and loading tables. I have also developed prototypes for bay windows and ground floor system for Thermonex.
My academic modules (1999-2003) have also covered steel structure, pre-stress structures, advanced R.C.C structures, retaining wall, water retaining structures and flat slab designs.
Construction materials knowledge and expertise
During my research at Glamorgan University (05-06) and Bolton University (07-09), I have gained ability to teach, demonstrate and carryout extensive lab experimental work on mechanical and physical properties of aggregate, cement and concrete as well as durability aspects of materials.
Offsite construction
Whilst working as KTP associate, I have developed understanding towards benefits of offsite construction, and low cost construction technology. It has given me insight of new construction products, manufacturing and installation processes.
Understanding towards codes and practices
My work on the replacement of primary aggregate at the Glamorgan University and development of X-concrete products with ThermoneX had given me exposure to Euro-codes, building regulations and practices.
Computing
I have good understanding on MS office; I am working on macros in MS-excel for the design and estimations of slabs and beams. I also have designed flyers for new products at ThermoneX. I had prepared power-point presentations on products I developed. I am good with AutoCAD-2D, especially in detailing and preparing the production drawings. I have also developed a design spread sheet for new floor system at ThermoneX. I have elementary knowledge on ANSYS.
Site Experience
During my work tenure at Maharana Builder (2003-2004), I was involved in plane table and dumpy level survey. I calculated area and volume of land to be excavated. I was also involved in steel inspection, quality of workmanship, estimates and supervision on sites.
Estimation and Quantity surveying
Had prepared estimates and bill of quanitities at Maharana Builders and Thermonex, as well as carried out quanitity survey.
