PROJECT DETAILS:
NAME OF PROJECT: “Analysis of Thyristor Controlled
Series Compensation”
LOCATION : 400KV Power grid in
kadapa.
DISCRIPTION OF PROJECT:-.
The main objective of this project is to improve
the power and gives good stability in power system
network. In this power system network there are
abnormal changes in load side means voltage may
rise up (Ferranti effect ) or voltage may fall and
control by increasing or decreasing the excitation
of alternator may not desirable. For high voltages
we use shunt reactor and low voltages by using
shunt or series capacitance. In TCSC to compensate
the power by using a series capacitor. It is an
advanced method of fixed series compensation. In
this TCSC reactance can be varied 5-10% capacitance
by varying firing angle of thyristor.
