Bathroom Keeping Fresh Tips

Bathroom Keeping Fresh

Considering the amount of water in a bathroom, it's ironic how dirty the surfaces can get. It may be effective in cleaning our bodies, but water is the main culprit when it comes to making the bathroom look messy. Water droplets splash on to most surfaces here leaving behind lime scale, dirt, germs and soapy residue. It is best to minimize clutter, have covered or closed storage solutions rather than open shelves, if you can help it, and opt for wall mounted fixtures. And of course there's nothing better than regular cleaning and constant maintenance for a spotlessly clean and hygienic bathroom.

If you're staying in an area where power cuts are the norm, stock up on candles in the bathroom, Instead of the stocky white ones, pick daintier, more colorful floating candles or tea-lights. Better still, coordinate them with your linen and place them around, regardless of whether the lights go off or not.

Ventilation can do what no air freshener can. If you have the luxury of a window that you can open during the day, do! Let the sunlight pour in - nothing disinfects better than sunlight. You can even place a few plants around your bathroom wherever possible - they're a great natural freshener too. For a burst of color and to freshen the air, you can display small, cut flowers in a range of cute vases that you can change every day.

There's nothing like a wafting whiff of a gentle scent. Incense may get a bit much in the enclosed space, but burners and even aromatic candles are great. Since scent rises, you can place a diffuser with your favorite scent / oil on a low shelf under the basin or even below a wall-mounted WC, where no water will splash on it. Make sure the oil or scent you're using is soft and fresh.
