The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has proposed four smart city projects worth Rs 69 crore for FY22.
The projects include smart water management, implementation of Phase-2 of CCTV-based public safety and adaptive traffic management across the city for implementation of adaptive traffic light control system and connectivity at bus shelters and government buildings on optical fibre network.
The projects will see an investment of Rs 19 crore, Rs 30 crore, Rs 10 crore and Rs 10 crore, respectively. All the projects have been approved at the authority meeting and the Metropolitan Authority has now sought public feedback on them.
The system will include setting up a centralised monitoring system with a network across the city. The readings from various control & measuring systems installed within the city network will be transferred online to a centralised monitoring facility at Integrated Control and Command Centre (ICCC).
The CCTV project, on the other hand, is in its second phase as GMDA has already installed over 1,000 cameras.
Phase-1 of the project aims to install 1,200 CCTV cameras at 222 junctions by the end of June 2021. Phase-2 will cover the remaining 138 locations and install around 800 CCTV cameras during 2021-22.
The fourth project involves establishing connectivity at bus shelter, government buildings and other important locations, within the GMDA area, on the captive optical fiber network.
