New port in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad : Fast tracking the momentum of inclusive economic development across the state, the Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to set up another major port in the state and a proposal to this effect has already been sent to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for final approval.

The state government, which was previously spearheaded by the former Chief Minister, K Rosaiah had personally communicated and had detailed discussion with the Prime Minister shortly after sending the proposal to his office and the state has also identified two locations for the upcoming port project. Shipping Ministry sources claimed that the proposal is still under consideration and a decision in this connection would be taken very shortly.
