According to the Director, Sales, P N Iyer, the cement major is currently working out details including capacity, investment and land availability before going to the board for securing final approval. In fact, the company scouting land in Yellur and Padebettu villages, which are close to the Udupi Power Plant from where it wishes to source fly ash. The Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) has identified 72 acres of land in these villages and another 94 acres of private land has also been identified and the final notification for acquisition will be announced very shortly.
