Godrej & Boyce has announced that its business Godrej Process Equipment has won its single largest order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) of Rs 468 crore. This order is Godrej & Boyce’s first order of steam generators for India’s highest rated indigenously developed 700 MWe pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWR) to be set up by NPCIL.
Steam generators are critical equipment in a nuclear power plant for generating clean (non-fossil) and reliable source of power for baseload requirements. Godrej Process Equipment has been chosen for their engineering competencies, capabilities for producing high precision equipment and expertise in working with exotic metallurgies. It will be manufactured at their new state-of-the-art facility in Dahej, Gujarat.
