Sterlite sets to get Rs. 1,100cr port project

Mumbai : Sterlite Group turned out to be the lone bidder for the upcoming iron ore export terminal at Mormugao Port involving an investment of Rs. 1,100 crore. In fact, the company controls the production and exports of the Sesa Goa and is said to be the only party that submitted the financial bid before the stipulated time. Initially scores of company including Essar, GVK Group, Punj Lloyd, ILFS Maritime Infrastructure have evinced enough interest in the project.

Sesa Goa, which is a part of the Sterlite Group is currently the largest iron ore producer and exporter of iron ore from Goa and the project will go a long way to help the iron ore industry in the region.
