The government of Goa has filed an affidavit to the National Green Tribunal(NGT) requesting a three-month extension to finalize the draft of Goa's draft Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP).
To finalize its CZMP, the Tribunal had set August 31, 2021 as the deadline for Goa.
Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral told media that the state government has asked for a delay until the end of November. Although the search has been going on for three months, the government plans to complete the CZMP much earlier.
Based on the objections and suggestions received against the plan, officials have been urged to complete the verification and ground observation work as soon as possible.
