At least 86 government agencies have been building illegally on GO 111's green zone, protected by law to preserve Hyderabad's drinking water reservoirs - Osmansagar and Himayatsagar, according to the 2016 official investigation.
The official quick scan of 2016, conducted in the 84 villages, shows the illegal construction of government buildings on GO 111.
These government structures include power stations, Anganwadi centers, schools, Gram Panchayat buildings, police stations and other offices, self-help groups (SHG) buildings, states the document filed with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) hearing a GO 111. case.
Environmentalists argue that more such ventures, such as community centers and government-run floor plans, have popped up in the past five years, while there has been no official list since.
