Punjab housing department to construct 32,000 EWS homes from Oct

In a meeting, the new cabinet minister of Punjab, led by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, discussed the pro-poor initiative, including 32,000 housing construction and about 300 units of free electricity for the economically weaker section (EWS).

On Monday, the meeting concluded with the pro-poor initiatives to be launched from October 2 on the anniversary of the father of the nation's birth.

The focus will be on the core sectors of care and education and the provision of affordable care and education for everyone.

The minister has instructed the Housing and Urban Planning Department to initiate 32,000 residential construction for EWS as a matter of priority.
