Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari on Thursday ordered officials to finalize the tender process for the proposed film town near Noida and award the contract by December.
Tiwari's directive came at a meeting to review the progress of the Film City, Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath's pet project.
In the Jewar area of Gautam Buddh Nagar district, a 1,000 hectare film town is proposed.
The project will be built as a public-private partnership (PPP) in Sector 21 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
According to an official statement, the chief secretary told senior officers that the tender process for the construction of the film city should be completed as soon as possible and the contract should be awarded in December 2021.
