BEE to use Indo-Swiss building tech to build houses in Andhra

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), which is part of the Department of Energy, has prepared an action plan for the implementation of the Building Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP) in the state housing plan.

The BEEP project aims to promote energy efficient building design in the proposed 28 lakh houses in Andhra Pradesh by implementing Indo-Swiss energy efficient building technology.

According to officials of the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), the Indo-Swiss technology will help lower the temperature in the houses by at least two degrees compared to conventional houses. It also ensures sufficient natural ventilation and daylighting, saves at least 20% on electricity and ensures safe and healthy living conditions.
