The center has proposed connecting Varanasi to Howrah via a high-speed train service.
The planned bullet train connecting Varanasi and Howrah will pass through multiple cities in Bihar and Jharkhand before arriving at its final destination.
The Indian Railway has started conducting surveys to recognize the route in the states where railway lines and bullet train stations will be installed. The railways have entrusted the responsibility for the investigation to a private agency.
According to an Indian Railways official, the bullet train will pass through several districts of Jharkhand, and investigations are currently underway in Giridih district to identify routes and villages that the project will affect.
A senior Indian Railways officer told media that the Bullet train would pass through the Bagodar block of Dhanbad and Giridih.
Lokesh Bhardwaj, a member of the investigative team, told media that the central government plans to run a high-speed train from Varanasi to Howrah. They conduct surveys to identify the places where railway lines can be built.
He also said that the research team is trying to recognize the availability of land and villages that will benefit from the upcoming project.
The research report will be presented to the national government, after which the government will take the following steps. They have completed their investigation in Giridih district and soon they will start their investigation in Dhanbad.
