JSW Steel told media that it will invest about Rs 150 crore to install a color coated steel plant in Kashmir.
The proposed downstream plant with a capacity of 120,000 tons per year will additionally house dedicated lines to produce steel sandwich panels and steel doors for the local market here in Jammu and Kashmir.
Interior Minister Amit Shah also handed over land allocation papers to Sajjan Jindal for this.
The land allocated to JSW Steel is owned by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and is part of an industrial park in Kashmir. However, JSW Steel plant is the first to be housed there.
