PM Narendra Modi has announced that the first episode of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) will be given to more than 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura. It will also boost the empowerment of the people.
PM Modi tweeted that PMAY-G premiere episode would be given to 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura at 1pm. It will give impetus to the empowerment of the people of the state.
According to an official statement, the first tranche would be transferred via video conference. More than Rs 700 crore would be credited directly to the bank accounts of Tripura beneficiaries, it said.
It also said that the beneficiaries living in kuccha houses would be assisted in the construction of a pucca house in Tripura, taking into account the geoclimatic condition of the state.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Urban Development, Giriraj Singh, and CM of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb.
