Ola Electric said on Saturday it has expanded test drives for its electric scooters across the country.
With this expansion, customers in more than 1,000 cities and towns will be able to test drive and experience the Ola S1 electric scooter, a statement said.
The test rides will initially only be open to those who have purchased or pre-ordered the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters, it added.
Ahmedabad and Kolkata on November 10, then opened five more cities - Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and Pune on November 19.
The company will now quickly add more locations to ensure all customers have access to test drives by December 15, the statement said.
Customer response to our test rides has been phenomenally positive and we are thrilled to see their enthusiasm for the revolutionary Ola S1 scooter. Thousands of customers test drive every day and love the best-in-class design, performance, technology and ride quality that the Ola S1 delivers," said Ola Electric Chief Business Officer Arun Sirdeshmukh.
The company will rapidly scale up test drives in the coming weeks and will cover more than 1,000 cities and towns across India to ensure every customer has access to test drives by mid-December, he added.
“This is the fastest national scale-up of test drives ever and a revolution in auto retail enabled by our direct-to-consumer model,” he said.
Customer test drives will be rolled out in the next batch of cities from Nov. 27 in cities such as Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Bhubaneswar, Tiruppur, Jaipur and Nagpur, the statement said.
Ola Electric had unveiled two e-scooters in August this year, Ola S1 and S1 Pro. In September, Ola had stated that sales of its first electric scooter exceeded Rs 1,100 crore in two days.
