Walmart-owned online fashion retailer Myntra has appointed Abhishek Gupta as its new chief financial officer (CFO). As a chartered accountant and experienced leader with expertise in a wide range of finance-related functions, Gupta brings over 16 years of experience in the e-commerce and FMCG industry. Gupta will assume his new role at Myntra on January 1, 2022, working closely with Nandita Sinha, the new CEO of Myntra.
In his new role at Myntra, Gupta will be overlooking Myntra's finance function. He is expected to further enhance business collaboration and strategic growth initiatives as Myntra continues to scale and shape the industry.
Gupta is currently head of finance - Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart India. He started his stint with the Flipkart Group in 2018 and joined as director, corporate finance, coming from Unilever, where he worked for almost 6 years, covering various vertical markets and regions. In addition, Gupta was also associated with Abbott and ITC Ltd in the early years of his career. Most recently at Flipkart, he led the corporate finance function (supply chain finance, operations finance, category finance, memberships, monetization, marketing and new business initiatives) for Walmart India and Flipkart Wholesale Business.
Over the years, he has worked extensively in core commercial areas such as risk management and internal controls, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, performance management and global shared services and collaborated with several functional units.
Gupta is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.
