New substations are to be established by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company to improve power supply in the district. In addition, new transformers will be installed in several rural areas of the district. The work is being carried out within the framework of the new agricultural pumping policy.
The power grid needs to be bolstered with the current power payments due. If the farmers' agricultural power contribution is paid, 66% of the total amount will be used for the agricultural emergency fund, an MSEDCL official stated.
Further, the official said that the substations play a vital role in transferring power to the outgoing feeders.
