NHAI aims at 7,300km of road projects in 2011-12

New Delhi : The national Highways Authority of india(NHAI)has set a target to award construction contracts for 7,300km of roads in the April 2011-12 financial year.It will tender around 10,000km to help ensure that the award target is met.

Last year,NHAI awarded a record 5,083 km of work,so this target represents a 44 percent increase in activity.NHAI says about 75 percent of the work will be suitable for BOT agreements.In the near future,it hopes to execute 59 projects,with a total length of 7,994km and a total value of Rs.56,939 crore.
