MG Motor India said Tuesday that January retail sales rose 20 percent to 4,306 units compared to the same period a year ago.
The carmaker had sold 3,602 units by January 2021.
“Supply remains affected due to the ongoing global semiconductor shortage, which has led to reduced production,” MG Motor India said in a statement.
While demand dynamics continue, MG Motor believes the situation will improve in the second half of the year, it added.
The company sells models such as Hector, Astor and Gloster in the domestic market.
