JSW Steel, an iron and steel mill, announced the death of Malay Mukherjee, who was an independent director of the company's board of directors.
The steel company announced the tragic death of Malay Mukerjee, aged 74, on January 29, 2022, battling Covid-19 at a hospital in New Delhi.
Mukherjee had approximately 40 years of experience in the mining and steel industry, from commercial to technical and administrative positions.
The company told media outlets that Mukherjee has held positions as CEO (ESSAR Steel Global), board member (ArcelorMittal), group executive in charge of mines and operations in Asia, Southern Europe, CIS, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Africa.
He was also responsible for the stainless steel, tubing and tubing. He joined JSW Steel on July 29, 2015.
JSW Steel said the company has greatly benefited from Mukherjee's leadership during his tenure, especially as chair of the project review committee.
The company revealed that its guidance and mentorship to senior employees in the company is unique and irreplaceable.
Mukherjee's passing would be an irreparable loss to the firm and the entire Steel Brotherhood.
