The Rajasthan government has allocated Rs 1,185 crore to build a 4.85 km extension of the Mansarovar-Badi Chaupar metro corridor at both ends.
The East-West Metro Corridor is being extended from Badi Chaupar to the Transport Nagar by the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC).
There are plans to build a two km elevated stretch from Mansarovar station to the 200-foot Bypass interchange on Ajmer Road to provide metro links to the Bypass interchange.
When completed, the existing 12 km east-west corridor between Mansarovar and Badi Chaupar . will
e extended to an extent of about 17 km.
The Corporation had previously published a detailed project report (DPR) on Phase-1C between Badi Chaupar and Transport Nagar to solicit public input. According to the DPR, if the same is completed by March 2025, the projected cost of the project with land fees and taxes will be Rs 866 crore.
In the allocated budget, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced plans to connect the satellite cities including Bassi, Bagru, Chandwaji, Phagi, Chaksu, Chomu with Metro Neo after the preparation of the Project Detail Project Report (DPR).
Despite the Chief Minister's promise to amend the project's Detailed Project Report (DPR), the state government has not made any allocations for the highly anticipated 23.5 km Jaipur Metro Phase II, proposed to be built from India Gate to Ambabari on the tonk road.
