The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is expected to begin construction of a new road connecting Sector 70A to the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) bypass from next month.
GMDA officials told the media that the sector currently does not have a good road, therefore, due to demand from residents and developers, GMDA is building a new 2.3-kilometer road, connecting the area to Palra Road and towards the SPR bypass.
Shaveta Sharma, executive engineer, GMDA, told media that Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) took this issue to hand over the acquired land. The estimate was accordingly approved for approximately 800 m² of land, which has been transferred from the HSVP for this purpose.
Sharma informed that the remaining 1.5 km land purchase procedure is underway.
Apart from providing connectivity to residents of Sectors 69, 70, 70A and 75, the 2.3km stretch would allow residents near Tulip Chowk and Rao Kaher Singh Chowk to avoid the congested SPR and Kherki Daula tolls. avoid and go straight to Manesar.
According to the GMDA officials, the project cost is estimated to be around Rs 5.94 crore, which includes constructing sewers and adding basic road safety equipment.
Bids have been requested for this project and will open on March 21.
The 2.3-kilometer road begins where traffic from SPR and Rao Kaher Singh Chowk converge on one side and extends to Palra Road on the other.
