The commuters using the Bengaluru-Hyderabad expressway will now be relieved as the route becomes a six-lane expressway, to provide smooth movement of vehicle traffic between the two-state capitals.
Recently, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy told media that the Bengaluru-Hyderabad, NH 44 will be converted into a six-lane highway from the existing dual carriageway. It will also have a real-time digital information management system.
An official release said that the estimated cost of the project is Rs 4,750 crore.
A traffic expert, Nanda Kishore, told media that the route is very popular and thousands of people commute between the two cities every day.
