Bharat Alt-Fuel Private Ltd (BAF) which mainly focuses on alternative fuel technology & e-mobility has announced its foray into new and renewable energy solutions.
The company locates its manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with the primary focus on energy storage systems (ESS).
Bharat Alt-Fuel was established in December 2020. Since then, it has managed to lay a strong foundation by ensuring product quality through advanced technology, reliable procedure engineering and high quality materials sourcing.
BAF encountered numerous obstacles during its start-up process. After a series of rounds with many investors, Audisankara Innovation & Incubation Center (AIIC), Hyderabad funded BAF with a $3.5 million infusion, including a 20,000 sqm production plant in Tamil Nadu.
Anusha Vanki, chief executive at AIIC, told media that an integrated strategy for renewable energy generation and storage is the only solution for a green future.
India would certainly reach its electric vehicle (EV) targets by 2030, but if electric vehicle propulsion still comes from burning coal (India generates more than 60% electricity from coal), it would be a bigger disaster.
Currently, BAF is developing business with international partners in the US, Taiwan & Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and also plans to strengthen its presence in Asia and Africa.
The company also signs power purchase agreements (PPA) in Cambodia & Tanzania to set up 150 MW solar installations.
Recently, BAF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build a self-sufficient agro-mill with an 800 KW solar plant near Nashik.
The project would help approximately 12,000 farmers when fully operational and would be the first of its kind.
The company is also working on several projects such as public surveillance systems and traffic lights that are independent of Solar Power and ESS.
In the coming future, BAF would also focus on exploring many new battery technologies and complementary alternative fuels.
