India is one of the largest cement producers in the world, with an estimated cumulative fixed capacity of 551 million tons per year by 2021.
It is also the second largest consumer of cement, although cement consumption per capita remains below the global average, leaving a lot of room for development.
Cement demand grew 11-13% year-on-year in CY 2021. Sustained demand for affordable housing in rural areas, rising demand in the urban builder segment, and government infrastructure spending remain key drivers for cement use.
Individual Home Builder and Ground+ Three Storey(G+3) are ACC's largest customer segments. This strong network has displaced approximately 79% of retail cement sales in CY 2021. Gold Water Shield (water-repellent cement) remains the market leader in the premium category.
