Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Roads announced that under Bharatmala Pariyojna Phase I, out of the 568 km road works which cost Rs 9,906 crore were awarded in Telangana, works covering a length of about 336 km have been completed.
Overall, works of 2,178 km were planned for development under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase I in Telangana for about Rs 54,485 crore.
The Union Minister announced that all projects under the Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase I, including those in Telangana, are expected to be completed by 2026-27.
Regarding the progress of the work, Gadkari said detailed project reports (DPRs) usually take almost 12 to 18 months.
During this time, many other pre-construction activities are completed, such as land acquisition and forest and environmental utility clearances.
He said that based on the readiness of the project, the work will be awarded.
The pre-construction operations were carried out with the help of various state governments. He said it was a time-consuming task that has been accelerated to reduce the delay of the program.
