Despite the inconvenience caused by the third wave of the Covid 19 pandemic, property sales in the country's eight largest cities reached a four-year high in January-March.
According to research by Knight Frank India, quarterly sales peaked at 78,627 housing units in the first quarter of the new year, up 9% from the previous quarter, while average housing capital prices rose 1 to 7% in all leading regions as demand remained strong.
A total of 78,171 units were launched in these areas, indicating that supply has kept pace with demand. During the quarter, Mumbai had the highest volume of sales, with 21,548 units sold, and Delhi-NCR had the largest year-over-year gain in new home sales, up 123%.
