The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the elevated metro rail near Juhu Airport, focusing on the safety of aircraft operations and residents.
In 2019, AAI has issued the NOC and authorized a 16.76m allowable top for the metro 2B corridor from DN Nagar to Mankhurd, which passes through SV Road near runway 08/26 of Juhu airport.
In 2021 High Court (HC) petitioner Harit Desai challenged the NOC that the metro line was within the funnel zone of runway 26/08. He claimed that the NOC violated the Height Restrictions for Safeguarding Aircraft Operations Rules, 2015.
