On Monday, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) moved the Bombay High Court to challenge the disqualification of its bid over a tender issued by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to upgrade the latter's container terminal in Navi Mumbai.
A vacation bench of Judges AK Menon and NR Borkar requested a response from JNPA's Board of Trustees and put the matter up for hearing on Friday.
On May 3, the private company was disqualified by JNPA from a tender process for the privatization of the State Port Authority's container handling facility.
The terms in the tender document said that any company involved in contract termination in other ports would not be allowed to participate in the tender process for the terminal's privatization, according to the JNPA.
