Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL) has decided to invest Rs 2,600 crore in Tamil Nadu over three years to set up three milling facilities.
The new facilities, each with a capacity of two million tons (MT), would more than double the state's current capacity, which currently stands at 5.9 MT.
In addition, an additional Rs 120 crore would be invested in the establishment of the Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS).
The factories would be located in Sattur in Virudhunagar district in the south, Arakkonam in Chennai and the Salem-Coimbatore area in the west by the country's fourth largest cement production company.
The cement company is looking to expand its manufacturing footprint statewide, which is now centered in Ariyalur and Trichy districts.
