Saint-Gobain India and Sembcorp Green Infra's subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy have signed a long-term energy supply agreement under which Sembcorp will install a 33 MW internal wind-solar hybrid project to connect Saint-Gobain's production facilities in Sriperumbudur, Perundurai and Tiruvallur of to provide power. in Tamil Nadu.
The wind-sun hybrid project is expected to be developed within a year. The project will be developed through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) within a 25-year power purchase agreement. Green Infra would have a 74 percent interest in the SPV and Saint-Gobain the rest.
Sembcorp's renewable energy capacity is 5.7 GW, with wind and solar power in key markets such as India, Singapore, Vietnam and China.
