The Ministry of Road Transport and Roads (MoRTH) has proposed to oblige road builders to adopt cost-saving technical techniques.
According to a report, it was determined to reduce costs by 10-15% of the originally designed project costs.
It was proposed to assign value engineering to the Terms of Reference (ToR) for feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects.
The initial report will include a chapter on Value Engineering, where the consultant will include the potential and project specific aspects of value engineering identified by the relevant experts based on on-site investigations.
The ministry stressed the need to adopt value engineering practices in design, construction and maintenance related to the use of materials and technology.
