Crisil predicted that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) grant could slow the current fiscal year and the following year to 5,000 km per year. It is committed to achieving the target of 6,500 km this year.
NHAI chairman Alka Upadhyaya said the authority would also achieve its goal of constructing 5,000 km of national highways (NHs) during the current fiscal year.
According to the Crisil report, NHAI allocation could slow to 5,000 miles per year during current and next FY, following a sequential increase from 2,222 miles in FY19 to 6,306 miles in FY22.
