The Government of Nepal has decided to transfer the contract of the 750 megawatts (MW) West Seti Hydropower Project and 308 MW SR6 Storage Hydroelectric Project to India's National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC).
The 51st meeting of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), chaired by Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, decided to award the deal to the company under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Bhawani Rana, a member of the IBN and a former chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), told media that the decision had been made to transfer the West Seti and SR6 projects to NHPC for construction.
