Steel Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh told media that there is a need for the right ecosystem for the secondary steel industry and consumers to reach the target of 300 million tons (mt) of steel capacity by 2030.
The minister said this during a meeting of manufacturers and consumers in Surat.
Singh said the ministry had emphasized the need to support and provide the right ecosystem for the secondary steel sector and consumers in a bid to meet a capacity of 300 mt by 2030.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized that all objectives can only be achieved with the active participation of secondary steel producers and consumers.
