Tata Steel stops coal purchase from Russia after April announcement

Tata Steel has not purchased any Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) coal from Russia after the April announcement of the severing of business ties with Russia amid ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

Tata Steel had said it would stop doing business with Russia on April 20. All of its steel production sites in India, the Netherlands and the UK have sourced alternative raw material sources to end reliance on Russia to ensure business continuity.

Tata Steel wants to clarify its opinion about the misinformation circulating in some parts of the media about the purchase and import of coal from Russia.
