Birla Corporation To Spend Rs.2,400 Cr On Expansion

New Delhi : India’s leading industrial company Birla Corporation has planned an investment worth Rs.2,400 crore for the expansion of its cement and clinker sectors.and the company will pump in Rs.500 crore for expanding its facilities at Satna in Madhya Pradesh, Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and Durgapur in West Bengal.

The company is setting up a 1.2 million tonne brownfield cement plant At Chanderia in Rajasthan with an investment of Rs.605 crore, he said. Currently the company has an annual capacity of 6 million tonnes and it will be increased gradually to 9 million tonnes.The company also plans to set up a cement plant with an annual capacity of up to three million tonnes with an investment of around Rs.1,300 core at Satna.

"The company has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Assam government for setting up a 1 million tonne cement plant,"
