CMDA sets up cell to look into NOC delays

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has set up a special cell to investigate the various reasons why housing projects are delayed and to issue the "no objection" certificates that contractors are required to obtain.

This cell will have four assistant planners and an administrative office with the rank of district official as leader. This will be the sole node for tracking progress and troubleshooting, which will be located in the Egmore CMDA office. Despite the implementation of the single-window system, several files have recently been rejected because they lacked additional applications and details.

According to CMDA records, 22 of the 47 files received online are pending due to a lack of NOCs.
