Union Territory of Ladakh can deliver projects worth Rs 1,172 crore under a renewed Distribution Sector Plan (RDSS) to strengthen power infrastructure, aiming to provide electricity to every home by 2024. The flagship of the renewed distribution sector is aimed at improving the operational efficiency and financial sustainability of the energy companies and departments.
In Ladakh, projects worth Rs 1,172.12 crore have been proposed under RDSS including Rs 144.60 crore for loss reduction works, Rs 627.64 crore for electrification of Changthang region and Rs 58.50 crore for works in the region Zanskar, officials said.
Modernization and system reinforcement of components worth Rs 341.47 crore has been proposed for the Union territory, she added. Ladakh is considering gradually reducing transmission and distribution losses from 48.17% in base year 2020-21 to 27.85% in 2024-25.
