The Cabinet of Arunachal Pradesh approved the Arunachal Pradesh Tenancy Bill, 2022, which aims to create a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive rental housing market in the state.

It aims to provide a faster dispute resolution framework and is expected to boost private participation in rental housing to address the statewide housing shortage in various income groups.

It will make it possible to create sufficient rental housing for all income groups and thus tackle the problem of homelessness. It will enable the institutionalization of rental housing by gradually shifting it to the formal market.
