In order to meet the strong demand for its smart power solutions and energy management technologies, ABB India has decided to expand and upgrade its smart power plant at Nelamangala in Bengaluru. The facility uses advanced collaborative robotic technology for a better human-machine interface, artificial intelligence and advanced digitization technologies for an advanced, automated and flexible factory that is ready for the future.
The facility manufactures, tests and supplies ABB Smart Power's complete range of low-voltage equipment and energy management technologies to meet industry demands for greater reliability and energy savings. It responds to the increasing demand in sectors including commercial and residential buildings, infrastructure, utilities and renewable energy systems of solar, wind and many others where electricity is consumed, ABB India said in a statement.
“The upgrades and expansions at the Bangalore plant make it one of our most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world. The adoption of exciting new Industry 5.0 technologies makes this an ideal home for manufacturing, testing and supplying ABB Smart's technologies power.
“The Smart Power team is the ideal partner for customers seeking higher standards of safety, reliability and energy efficiency in their operations,” said Giampiero Frisio, president, Smart Power Division, ABB Group.
Spanning over 8,400 m², the ABB Smart Power plant emphasizes process optimization and plans predictive maintenance to maximize productivity and efficiency. This resulted in 40% improved productivity in the same space, with 15% energy efficiency, the company said.
