NHPC inks MoU with PTC India for sale of power

NHPC has signed an MoU with PTC India for the sale of power to be generated from the upcoming West Seti and Seti River-6 projects in Nepal. The MoU is reportedly signed by AK Singh, CMD, NHPC and Dr. Rajib K Mishra, CMD, PTC India. On this occasion, RP Goyal, Director (Finance) Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), VR Shrivastava, Executive Director (SBD&C) of NHPC and Harish Saran, Executive Director (Commercial and Operational), Pankaj Goel, CFO and Bikram Singh , EVP -Marketing from PTC India were also present.

According to the MoU, PTC will purchase the contracted capacity from NHPC from the date of commercial operation of the above projects for further sale to the long-term Utilities/Discoms/Bulk Consumers State in India and neighboring countries. PTC will also endeavor to sell free medium or short term capacity or on power exchanges.
