Tata Power and Tata Motors have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to create a 4 MWp on-site solar project at Tata Motors' Pune plant.
The facility is expected to produce a total of 5.8 million units of power, potentially reducing CO2 emissions by more than 10 lakh tons.
According to Tata Motors, the company has taken the necessary steps to increase the share of renewable energy used in its operations.
In FY22, the company produced 92.39 million kWh of renewable electricity for its manufacturing operations across all of its Indian plants. This represents 19.4% of the total power consumed and resulted in energy savings of 72,992 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent and financial savings of Rs 270 million.
