Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), will invest Rs 6.12 billion in a 100 MW ground-mounted solar project for SJVN Limited (SJVN) in Gujarat.
SJVN is an Indian government company with interests in hydropower, thermal, solar, wind, power transmission and energy trading. This is a collaboration between the Government of India and the State of Himachal Pradesh.
The project was awarded through rate-based competitive bidding after bids for Lot C of the Raghanesda Solar Park in Gujarat were invited earlier this year. The project will be given the green light within 11 months of receiving the subsidy letter.
“TPSSL has commissioned several large-scale, ground-based solar projects in the country. TPSSL is a pioneer in assembling tailor-made strategic renewable projects and with this win, its total portfolio will reach 9.9 GWp. At present, TPSSL's total order book stands at almost Rs 155 trillion," the company said in a press statement.
